Bio
Lisa Burn began her professional career as a trumpeter while still a student at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, performing with the North Carolina Symphony. After receiving her degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, she continued her career with the Winnipeg Symphony in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. While in Winnipeg, Ms. Burn developed a successful private trumpet studio and was frequently engaged as a trumpet clinician for the area music educators. Upon returning to her native North Carolina in 2003, she accepted a position as band director at Franklin Academy in Wake Forest and developed both the concert and jazz bands to levels of distinction.
Lisa currently maintains an active schedule as a trumpeter, performing as a freelance professional and serving as principal cornet of the Triangle Brass Band, as well as a private instructor and music education consultant for the Triangle Area.
